Frances Goodall

Frances has been a practising and registered Bowen Technique Therapist for 3 years, and has more recently added The Emmett Technique and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) to her practice. She is soon to complete training in NLP, Hypnotherapy and Life Coaching.

"I came down with ME/ Chronic Fatigue in 2001, in my first term at University, I don’t know what I would’ve done without a new found interest: Buddhism formed the foundation of my spiritual life and was a life-line for me when I was unwell, by helping me to see beyond the suffering of the physical body and to develop more wisdom and compassion.

The illness took me on a journey of healing and spiritual growth: including meditation, yoga and an exploration of healing, psychology and spirituality. I began training in The Bowen Technique while still unwell and have now been practising for three years.

More recently I have added The Emmett Technique and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) to my practice. I have found all of the therapies I now practice supportive in my own journey to full health.

I now enjoy working and studying roughly 40 hours a week, and also running, swimming and maintaining a spiritual practice of meditation and yoga."

Pravahi has twenty years of experience of teaching and group facilitation, and has 18 years experience as a qualified and BACP accredited counsellor. She has been practising Colourpuncture Therapy, which is a form of body psychotherapy, for 4 years.

"I have lived and worked in Sheffield for over 30 years and am now based as a self -employed therapist offering counselling, supervision and Colourpuncture Therapy in Nether Edge. I began my professional life as a teacher, and after post - graduate training, worked as a counsellor, trainer, group facilitator and manager in the public sector.

One of my biggest challenges came with the onset of ME/ Chronic Fatigue in 1998. From this point, I had to give up my work, social life and many other aspects of my identity for the next 5 years. However, this ‘time out’ gave me the opportunity to explore the root causes of my ill health and it was an invaluable period of personal growth for me. I began to wonder who I was without my job, social network and able body and this question led me on a journey into my interior via meditation. Meditation elevated me beyond my ill health and helped me to feel ‘bigger’ than ME and confident that I could outgrow it.

I became interested in why some people heal and others don’t and the phrase “Your biography becomes your biology” (Dr Caroline Myss) resonated deeply. Entering into Colourpuncture Therapy (a form of body psychotherapy ), I released repressed emotions that had been outside of my awareness up to this point and cleared blocked energy pathways.

My journey towards full health taught me that ME/ Chronic Fatigue is a complex condition which is uniquely experienced by each individual and that requires healing on all fronts – emotional, physical and spiritual. I now enjoy sharing my learning and facilitating growth and healing in one to one and group sessions."
